Borough Market is worth visiting if you are on vacation in London. This ancient market will give you some insight into what British food is all about! Taste and buy beautiful food products, or shop for fresh fruit and veg. Borough Market is one place I always go when I’m in London and when I was living and working as a chef in London it was a regular haunt. Here are some photos we have taken in Borough Market, of the fresh foods, fish, meats, food carts and stalls, over the years.
Photos From Borough Market
British food markets are common around the country with some towns having original marjket buildings (Cardiff, Wales, has a good one). You’ll also find weekly farmers’s markets accross the UK, these are another very good place to find good British food and produce.
Borough Market doesn’t just sell British food, although it does heavily focus on British produce and foods, we’ve also seen international foods, paella, curries, exotic meats from Africa and more.
While I’ve never had a full English breakfast at Borough Market, you can certainly get a very good coffee and a cake at plenty of places in and around the market. The photo above is from a little coffee and chocolate outlet under the bridge, between the two main sections of the market.
This vegetarian mushroom pate is absolutely delicious, and one of my favourite food products at Borough Market. As you can see, you can taste several foods before you buy at Borough Market.
